2007 MS Wildlife Extravaganza Big Buck Contest and Magnolia Records Program Display

Rules and Regulations

1. All white-tailed deer taken legally within Mississippi during any prior hunting season are eligible to participate in the Magnolia Records Program. Only those deer taken during the 2009-2010 hunting season are eligible to participate in the
Big Buck Contest
.

2. Mount must be registered under the name of the hunter who took and recovered the deer. Mounts not registered under the name of the hunter will be disqualified.

3. Mounts must be brought to the Trade Mart between 3:00 and 9:00 p.m., Friday, August 6th, or between 9:00 and noon Saturday, August 7th. Mounts may be removed only between the hours of 3:30 and 5:00 p.m. Sunday, August 8th, NO EXCEPTIONS.

4.The scorers will determine typical and non-typical classes during the scoring process. The minimal score for the purpose of the Magnolia Records Program is as follows:

125 - Typical
155 - Non-Typical

5. When you register you will be given a receipt at the show. That receipt will allow you to pick up your mount on Sunday, August 8th, between 3:30 and 5:00 p.m.

6. All entrants of the Magnolia Records Program and the Mississippi Wildlife Extravaganza's Big Buck Contest will receive a Certificate of Participation and will be entered into a drawing for a $300 cash prize. Mounted first deer are eligible to participate in the cash prize drawing. First deer entered by photo only are eligible for a $50 gift certificate drawing. Winners of the Big Buck Contest will receive a ribbon, a certificate and will be photographed to be included in MWF's magazine, Mississippi Wildlife. Announcement of the Big Buck Contest winners, gift certificate winner and cash-drawing winner will be held on stage, Sunday at 4:00 p.m.

7. If the deer has been officially Boone & Crockett, Longhunters, Pope & Young or Magnolia Records Program scored, please denote the score on the registration form below and bring the official score record with your mount to the show.

To enter, complete this form and return it to the address listed below. Complete a separate application for each mount you wish to enter. No entry fee is required. You will receive a pass to the show when you present your deer to be scored.

Fair chase prohibits (1) spotting or herding game from the air, followed by landing in its vicinity for pursuit; (2) herding or pursuing game with powered vehicles; (3) use of electronic communications for attracting, locating, or observing game, or guiding the hunter to such game; (4) hunting game tranplanted solely for the purpose of commercial shooting or game confined by artificial barriers, including escape proof fenced enclosures.

I cerfity that the trophy entered above was taken in fair chase and recovered by me. I further certify that it was taken in full compliance with Mississippi game laws and regulations and was taken within Mississippi state boundaries. I certify that the antlers on this mount are natural and real.
