The Mississippi Wildlife Extravaganza is the kick-off to hunting season for Mississippi's sportsmen and women. Our exhibitors, staff, and volunteers plan fun, family-oriented events and offer hunting and fishing products for sale. It also serves as the Mississippi Wildlife Federation's major fundraiser. Monies raised from this event support the free programs offered by MWF throughout the year.
The Extravaganza draws exhibitors from all over North America and Canada. They offer sport and fishing products primarily and share the Federation's desire to protect our natural resources through education and conservation. There is truly a wide variety available from the Extravaganza's more than 200 exhibitors - something for everyone.

Visit with Larry Weishuhn, "Mr. Whitetail," at the upcoming MS Wildlife Extravaganza! Topics such as "Buck and Deer Are More than 4-Letter Words" and "Don't Ever Take a Woman Hunting!" are just two highlights of the show!
Larry Weishuhn is one of this country’s most respected and recognized hunter/outdoor personalities. A highly experienced professional wildlife biologist, Larry helped develop many of the quality deer and habitat management techniques used today throughout North America. His many years of research, management, hunting of white-tailed deer, as well as the promotion of the species, their habitat and his many years of writing have lead to him being known throughout the hunting world as “Mr. Whitetail”.

Perennial favorites such as Terry Vandeventer with "Snakes of Mississippi," Preston Pittman talking turkey, and Paul Meek making turkey calling easy for the beginners will be on hand. Anyone who appreciates "big air dogs" will want to see Jason Reynolds and his retrievers at the Fetch-N-Fish Fetch Tub.
As always, there will be plenty of big bucks on hand at the Big Buck display. Stop by the Southern Traditional Archery booth and try your hand shooting a long bow or try bowfishing at the Bowfishing Association of Mississippi's booth! It's your chance to experience archery first-hand!
Scheduled August 6-8, 2010, the Wildlife Extravaganza will be held at the Trade Mart on the Fairgrounds in Jackson, MS. Show hours are 3 p.m. - 9 p.m. on Friday, August 6th; 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 7th; and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 8th. Admission is $8 for adults and $4 for children aged 6-12; children aged 5 and under are free.
Friday is Kids' Day at the Extravaganza where children 12 and under get in free and adult admission is $7!
