Mississippi Wildlife Federation

Welcome

The Mississippi Wildlife Federation was established in 1946 to advance the protection of wildlife in Mississippi. Over 50 years later we are working in a multitude of areas to conserve Mississippi's natural resources and protect our wildlife legacy.

As you are no doubt aware, Mississippi is a remarkable place in terms of natural resources.  We are blessed with a diversity of plants and animals. A mosaic of habitats ranging from deep Delta swamps to the Black Prairie to the Gulf marshes cover the State.  We have opportunities for year around outdoor activities whether it is hunting or fishing, outdoor photography or preparing a backyard habitat.

As the oldest and largest conservation organization in the state, the Mississippi Wildlife Federation works to protect Mississippi’s natural resources for future generations. We believe that there can be a balance between environmental conservation and economic development.  We also believe that education is an important component in all that we do.  As a federation, we have affiliate organizations representing statewide organizations as well as local conservation groups.  Our strength is in the diversity of our members and these affiliate organizations.

Please take time to review our website and see some of the programs and activities of the Mississippi Wildlife Federation.  We hope that after reviewing this you will consider joining us as we continue to conserve Mississippi’s natural resources.

The Mississippi Wildlife Federation is the state affiliate of the National Wildlife Federation.
